Our ancestors saw Kimbunga - the tornado - and believed within its furious spiral of wind, resided a mystical entity, whose job was to bring destruction to the earth. This mysterious creature was depicted in a purposefully distorted way, to reflect the fear and dread that came with it, but also its unusual might that did not conform to the preferences curtailed by the mortal nature of humans. The aesthetic behind this piece is born of acceptance to that which can summon itself at any moment, without permission, to challenge the hearts of the living. This piece is reminds us to respect the forces of nature, without judgement.
